Ahmed Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has formally withdrawn his membership from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Wadada announced his exit in a resignation letter addressed to the chairman of the party in Tudun Kofa Ward, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
In the letter, the lawmaker explained that his decision stemmed from the unresolved internal wrangling within the SDP.
“I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Social Democratic Party with immediate effect,” he stated.

“This step did not come easily, but the persistent internal crisis that has fractured our party and given rise to litigations has left me with no other option.”
He further expressed gratitude for the platform the party provided him during his membership, noting that the experience and networks he gained would remain valuable.
“Nevertheless, I believe the time has come for me to move on and seek fresh political opportunities,” Wadada added.
Although he did not disclose his next political destination, the senator had previously spoken highly of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking to State House correspondents on August 13, shortly after meeting with the President at the Villa, Wadada remarked that no presidential candidate from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition could rival Tinubu’s record in office.
