VP Shettima to Visit Katsina, Launch MSME Clinic, Key Projects on Monday

Vice President Kashim Shettima will visit Katsina State on Monday and Tuesday to open the 9th Expanded National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinic and commission key state projects, including a N1.9 billion, 3.3-kilometre dual-expanded road in the state capital.

Aisha Aminu, Director-General of the State Enterprises Development Agency (KASEDA), told journalists that Shettima will participate in a panel discussion on advancing MSMEs and attend a graduation and award ceremony for MSME trainees, where top performers will receive prizes.

Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transportation, Sani Magaji, noted that the vice president will inaugurate the road project, stretching from the Central Mosque to the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) roundabout.

Shettima will also launch a Farmers’ Radio station and an e-centre, enabling farmers to access expert advice on farming practices.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmed Bakori, emphasized that with over 70% of Katsina’s population engaged in farming, the radio station will provide critical support on production, marketing, and pest control, addressing key agricultural challenges.

Shettima’s last visit to Katsina was in July, following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
