The Voice of Nigeria (VON) and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) are partnering to develop Nigeria’s automotive industry and put it in the global stage.

The Director General VON Mallam Jibril Baba Ndace stated this Friday when he led the management staff of VON on a courtesy visit to the DG of NADDC Olawemimo Joseph Osanipin in Abuja on Friday.

He lauded the Osanipin for ensuring NADDC under his watch maintains global best practices in all its operations.

Ndace emphasized on the need for NADDC to tell its own story and narrative to the world.

He noted that through the partnership, the ground breaking achievements of NADDC would be showcased to the world through VON’s numerous platforms and in eight different languages.

“I would like to on behalf of management and staff of Voice of Nigeria offer Voice of Nigeria platform to you to be able to tell your own story of what you are doing on behalf of Nigeria.”

“We are working to return our shortwave transmitter that will enable Voice of Nigeria to speak to over 10 million people, Africans and people around the world. Some of the facilities we have there are the best and only in Africa and with the support of the President, Commander-in-Chief by the grace of God, that will be back.

“When you speak to us in English, you are speaking indirectly in eight languages, you speak to us in Hausa, you have several other to also speak to because on a daily basis, we create and push content in eight languages,” he said.

In his remarks, Osanipin said since assuming office, he and his team have been working hard to put measures that would transform auto industry in place.

He said the agency is focused on local components part production because it is the engine of growth in the auto industry.

He said once Nigeria is self sufficient in local components part production, it would attract big auto manufacturers to the country.

He urged Nigerians to trust and patronize local vehicle components manufactured in Nigeria, noting that they are of better quality compared to the ones imported into the country.

urged Nigerians to trust in item manufactured in the country.

“The problem is a lot of Nigerians, maybe because of price, maybe because of lack of information don’t have that faith or belief in it, but in truth, the price may be higher. What majority of Nigerians don’t know is that those come with better quality.” Mr Osanipin said.

“And I will explain, the China break part is programmed to do between 3,000 to 4,000 kilometers, the one in Nigeria is programmed to do between 10,000 to 15,000. So they are different.”
