Veteran Nollywood actor Olusegun Akinremi, famously known as Chief Kanran, is scheduled to be buried on Friday, September 12, 2025.
The burial will hold at Beckley Estate, Abule Egba, Lagos State, following a wake-keeping held on Thursday, September 11, and an artistic night at 8 p.m. the same day.
The interment will take place immediately after the burial service.

The information was included in an obituary issued by the late actor’s family and obtained by PUNCH Online on Thursday.

Chief Kanran passed away at the age of 70 on August 15. His death was announced by film executive and producer Seun Oloketuyi through an Instagram post.
He wrote, “Popular actor Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, died Friday morning. Details soon.”
Chief Kanran was a well-known figure in the Yoruba film industry, celebrated for his unique style, sophisticated elegance, passion for luxury, sharp wit, and powerful performances that captivated audiences in stage plays and films for decades.
