The Director-General/Chief Executive of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, and 14 others were conferred with the prestigious Fellowship Award of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD), the leading association for learning and development of professionals in Nigeria.
The Fellowship, NITAD’s highest professional designation confers, on the holders of the title of Fellow of the Institute of Training and Development (FITD).
While Presenting the award during the investiture in Lagos, NITAD President, Mr. James Bulus, FITD, commended Dr. Ogun for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of training, skills acquisition, and human capital development in Nigeria.
He noted that under Dr. Ogun’s leadership, the ITF has expanded its training programmes, introduced innovative initiatives such as the Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Programme and strengthened collaborations with local and international partners to enhance Nigeria’s industrial competitiveness
.“Dr. Ogun is a trailblazer, whose passion for developing people has positively impacted the learning and development landscape in this country.
His achievements at the ITF have repositioned the Fund to meet the evolving manpower needs of our nation,”
Bulus stated.In his acceptance speech that Dr. Ogun dedicated the award to the ITF family and stakeholders in the training and development ecosystem and described it as an honour and a responsibility.
“This recognition is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the collective efforts of all those who share in the vision of advancing human capital development in Nigeria,”
He added that, “Having served as a trainer for over three decades, this honour affirms my lifelong journey and passion for developing people which is why many fondly call me ‘Teacher Afiz.
’”Dr. Ogun also extended appreciation to NITAD, ITF workforce, and stakeholders and pledged to continue championing initiatives that bridge skills gaps, empower artisans, professionals, and build a globally competitive Nigerian workforce.
Other personalities that were conferred with the fellowship during the investiture that brought together industry leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders from the learning and development community included Dr. Mrs Kachollom Pam Gyang – the Commissioner for Education in Plateau State, Hon. Justice Anumaenwe Godwin Iheabunike, Mrs Abosede Oluwakemi George, Dr. Olufemi Ajayi Oladunni, Morenike Mulikat Famakin, Prof. Francis Toromade, Mrs. Nkechi F. Anene, Engr. Tunji Olorunfemi Omotowa, Dr. Kemi Abayeh, Mrs. Joyce Sewuese Akiga, Mrs Beatrice Teme Oladokun, Engr. Best Nnodim, Dr. Raheema Abdul-Aziz Nyako and Dr. Olumuyiwa Akinrole Oludayo.
