Olympics legend Usain Bolt slammed Manchester United‘s “joke” of a performance in their 3-1 defeat against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.
The celebrity fan criticised his beloved Red Devils in a match which saw him struggle to identify “one good thing” as pressure continues to mount on under-fire head coach Ruben Amorim.
After raising hopes of a revival in fortunes following the 2-1 victory over Chelsea last weekend, United slipped back into old habits against Brentford.
Amorim’s men found themselves two goals down inside 20 minutes thanks to a brace from Bees striker Igor Thiago.

United fail to build on Chelsea win
Benjamin Sesko did pull one back with his first goal for the club since joining from RB Leipzig, but a late strike from Mathias Jensen sealed Brentford’s victory and condemned United to another poor result.
Bolt vents anger on social media
Fans quickly picked up on Bolt’s frustration during the game. After Thiago’s early brace, the eight-time Olympic gold medallist wrote on X: “This must be a joke.”
Following the full-time whistle, he added: “Can’t identify one good thing we good at.”
Amorim under more pressure
The defeat was United’s fourth of the season across competitions, leaving them with just two league wins so far.
Their struggles have fuelled further doubts about Amorim’s future, with the Portuguese yet to record back-to-back league victories since taking over from Erik ten Hag in November 2024.
Manager remains defiant
Amorim maintained he is not concerned about his job, insisting he is focused on helping United improve:
“I am never concerned about my job, I am not that kind of guy. We can play better and we need to play better.”
What’s next for United
United, sitting 14th in the table, will now turn their attention to next Saturday’s clash with Sunderland.
The newly promoted side are flying high in fourth and will pose another stern test for Amorim’s team.
