Nollywood filmmaker and actor, Afeez Abiodun, has shed light on the personality of his wife, actress Mide Martins, stressing that she is nothing like the fiery roles she is often cast to play on screen.
Abiodun, who has been married to Mide for almost 20 years, explained that while viewers are used to seeing her act as a tough or confrontational woman in films, her true nature is gentle and peace-loving.
“She’s the opposite of what people see on TV,” he said in a recent interview.

“I have never had any reason to separate her from fighting anyone on set. She would rather get into her car and drive off than engage in any fight.”

The filmmaker went on to compare her temperament with that of their colleague, actress Wunmi Toriola, whom he believes reflects her on-screen persona more closely.
“Wunmi’s character is a bit similar to her role in movies,” Abiodun remarked. “If you don’t look for her trouble she won’t fight you, but if you trespass, she will act exactly as you see in movies.”
