UNIZIK breaks silence on the death of 100-level Law student


The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has addressed the tragic death of a 100 level law student, Chioma Ajana.

Recall that tragedy struck on July 9, 2025, following the death of the law student.

According to close sources, Chioma Ajana died due to complications from diabetes after being denied timely access to her insulin medication.

Meanwhile, the university’s Acting Vice Chancellor,Arinze Umobi, has addressed the tragic incident, ordering the suspension of the doctors, nurses, and security personnel on duty at the University’s Medical Centre on the day of the incident for three months.

According to the statement, the university has demanded the dismissal of the hostel supervisor responsible for the spare key and will re-evaluate its relationship with ELMADA Hostel.

Furthermore, the university’s Acting Vice Chancellor assured his commitment to upholding the care and safety of students.
