Former Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev on Friday claimed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky got a “solid slap” from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Medvedev, who is the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council and leader of the ruling United Russia party, said this while reacting with joy to the White House heated argument between Zelenskyy and Trump on Friday.
He also praised Trump for his “dressing down” of Zelenskyy, saying the US president was right to say that the Ukrainian leader was “gambling with World War Three.”
“The ungrateful pig got a solid slap from the masters of the pigsty.
“That’s useful,” Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
Following the heated argument, a press conference, where Zelenskyy and Trump were expected to give separate speeches and take more questions, was cancelled because of the tense atmosphere.
In a post on X after leaving the White House, Zelensky thanked the United States for their support to Ukraine and for his visit.
“Thank you, @POTUS, Congress, and the American people,” Zelenskyy wrote. “Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that.”
On his part, Trump, in a post on Truth Social, said Zelensky displayed disrespect and should return to the White House when he is ready for peace amid Ukraine’s war with Russia.
