Ukachukwu reacts to defeat in 2025 Anambra governorship election

The governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded Anambra state November 8, 2025 poll, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Sunday, said he would be studying data generated from the exercise and consult with stakeholders before unveiling his next line of action.

Ukachukwu disclosed this at a press conference held in Awka shortly after the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the incumbent Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, won with 422,664 votes as against his 99,445 votes.

According to him, the results also proved a point that he would have scored higher if not that APGA led government engaged in vote buying and intimidation of opposition party agents and supporters.

“I will study and compare the data generated from polling units to those uploaded on IReV. I will also consult with my polling agents, collation agents and other stakeholders of the APC. After that, I will make categorical statement on my next line of action,” he stated.

Continuing, he said, “Anambra people voted massively for me because they are tired of the incumbent. You would have seen more if not that they engaged in vote buying. The story from day one was that APC does not exist in Anambra. They also claimed that I would come a distance third. Now you can see that APC is truly in Anambra.”

He further alleged that some of his supporters in the hinterlands, including a lady at Anambra East local government area was intimidated yet she insisted on mobilising her supporters against APGA and at the end of her winning from polling units to ward level and collation centres, APGA thugs allegedly went and burnt her house.
