Udenta Udenta: APC Is A Structure Of Darkness Waiting To Collapse, 2027 Will Be A Day Of Reckoning If Jonathan Contests

Political analyst and founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy, Udenta Udenta, has launched a scathing attack on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a fragile edifice that will not withstand the pressures of Nigeria’s political future.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News on Tuesday, Udenta declared: “This is a structure of darkness. This is a structure that will collapse on its own,” stressing that the APC has weaponised state institutions to entrench its dominance.

He warned that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has become an extension of APC’s machinery.

“INEC has become a weapon in the hands of APC, used to legitimise electoral robbery and violence,” he alleged, adding that the judiciary has equally been compromised.

Udenta also issued a stern caution regarding the 2027 general election, saying it could prove decisive if former President Goodluck Jonathan throws his hat into the ring.

“That panic is that 2027 will be a day of reckoning. That becomes more acute if Jonathan contests that election,” he warned.

He insisted that the ruling party’s hold on power can only be broken if the opposition forges unity ahead of the polls.

“If PDP and Labour Party do not come together, APC will destroy this country beyond recognition,” he cautioned, noting that fragmented opposition only strengthens the ruling establishment.

Udenta further described the APC’s governance as catastrophic for Nigeria’s democratic health. According to him, “What APC has done is to collapse the economy, collapse security, collapse cohesion and collapse legitimacy.”

The political scholar emphasised that Nigerians are yearning for change and would decisively reject APC at the ballot if credible alternatives emerge.

“This country cannot continue like this. The people are waiting, the people are watching, the people are suffering,” he said.

Udenta concluded by stressing that the coming elections would be a test of Nigeria’s survival. “2027 is not just another election. It is the soul of the country that will be contested,” he declared.
