The U.S. State Department has launched a comprehensive review of more than 55 million foreign nationals holding valid U.S. visas, according to The Associated Press.
The initiative involves “continuous vetting” to identify any violations that could render visa holders ineligible to enter or remain in the United States.
The State Department stated that if disqualifying information is uncovered, visas will be revoked.
Visa holders found to be in the U.S. could face deportation proceedings.
