Two Drown In Kazaure Dam While Fleeing NDLEA Raid


Two young men have lost their lives after drowning in a dam while attempting to escape operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) during a raid in Kazaure town, Jigawa State.

According to reports obtained by Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred on Saturday around 3:00 p.m. when NDLEA personnel stormed a suspected drug joint in the Ganguli area of Kazaure.

The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Garzali Garba of Tsohon Kafib Quarters and 21-year-old Usama Ahmed of Kanti Quarters, both residents of Kazaure. Witnesses said the duo tried to evade arrest by diving into a nearby dam but tragically drowned in the process.

In the aftermath of the incident, security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were deployed to forestall any breakdown of law and order.

The NDLEA office in Kazaure was also reinforced with additional personnel, while community leaders and stakeholders were engaged to appeal for calm and ensure peace was maintained in the town.
