Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his fine scoring form with a brace as Trabzonspor battled to a dramatic 4-3 win over Fatih Karagümrük in a Turkish Süper Lig Round 7 clash at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadı in Istanbul on Saturday.
The towering forward, who rescued his side with a late equaliser against Gaziantep last weekend, followed up with two first-half goals — a stunning overhead kick and a composed penalty — to give Trabzonspor a commanding 3-1 lead before the break.
Felipe Augusto had earlier opened the scoring for Trabzonspor in the 20th minute from a Wagner Pina assist, before Tiago Çukur equalised for the hosts eight minutes later.
Onuachu then restored the lead in the 35th minute with a spectacular acrobatic finish and extended it in first-half stoppage time from the spot.
In the closing stages, Danylo Sikan added a fourth for the visitors in the 88th minute, seemingly sealing victory.
But Karagümrük mounted late pressure as David Datro Fofana struck twice in added time (92nd and 93rd minutes), setting up a nervy finale.
Despite the scare, Trabzonspor held on to claim all three points.
Onuachu has now scored five goals in seven appearances for Trabzonspor — surpassing the tally he managed in 28 games for Southampton.
