Yobe State governorship aspirant for the 2027 general elections, Barr Kashim Musa Tumsah, has vowed to provide more assistance to communities in the state in 2026.
Tumsah alias KMT was in Damaturu on the invitation of Governor Mai Mala Buni to, among other things, support the governor in presenting the 2026 appropriation bill of over N515.5 billion on Thursday.
KMT, whose humanitarian interventions in various fields span over two decades, has recently declared its intention to run for the state’s most exalted seat following calls from overwhelming groups, associations, and individuals from the state, due to its support and assistance, especially in rural areas.
Speaking in Damaturu yesterday, KMT stated that more assistance would be extended to rural communities in 2026, particularly access to quality education for underprivileged children and the strengthening of empowerment among women and young people.
“I have always shared my concerns on the growth and development of Yobe, and I have since realised that interventions in the areas of education and empowerment are key. These, I have tried to do over the years, thank God, many people are reaping the fruits now,” KMT said.
Speaking amidst hundreds of his supporters and admirers, KMT commended the state government’s drive in moving the state forward, noting that the strategic and careful handling of governance under Governor Buni has opened avenues for investments and employment.
The aspirant, who stated that he would contest under the APC platform, promised during his declaration to do his best to see Yobe state become the leading state in terms of growth, development, investment, education, empowerment, security, and health, among other areas.
