A Nigerian man, Kalu Aja, has urged Nigerians to stop panicking over claims that the United States might launch a military attack on Nigeria following threats from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Kalu stated that Trump would not send American troops to invade Nigeria, adding that the former president’s comments had already achieved their intended goal.
“Trump is not going to attack Nigeria militarily, so let’s stop with the TikTok videos,” Kalu said.
Nigerians React to Trump’s Statement
Trump’s recent statement about a possible U.S. military intervention in Nigeria has sparked mixed reactions across social media.
While some Nigerians took the threat literally, others viewed it as political pressure aimed at influencing Nigeria’s internal affairs.
“Threat Has Achieved Its Purpose”
According to Kalu, Trump’s warning has already served its purpose by prompting swift action from Nigerian authorities.
“Trump’s tweets were sent to achieve maximum effect, and I say it has worked. I see a full court press from Nigeria, diplomatic and military, both in tone and visuals, have given this the seriousness it deserves,” Kalu added.
Analyst Urges Nigeria to Seek Intelligence Support
Kalu advised that Nigeria should now use the momentum created by the global attention to seek stronger cooperation with Western allies.
He emphasized the need for intelligence and surveillance support to locate terrorist hideouts and track their sponsors.
Kalu Aja added that this is the best time for Nigeria to strengthen ties with both Western and Eastern countries to track and identify the sponsors of terrorism.
“Nigeria needs intelligence to fight Boko Haram and the other non-state actors doing the killings in Nigeria, he said. “This should be phase two of the Nigerian government’s response — to ask the same Western partners for satellite imagery that shows where these terrorists gather before. Is there a better time than now to ask for this actionable intelligence and also work with the West and East to track and identify sponsors of terror in Nigeria?” he stated.
