Trump Signs Orders to Cut Migrant Funding and Remove Regulations

3 days ago 24

US President Donald Trump has issued executive orders reducing funding for migrants and eliminating regulatory restrictions.

US President Donald Trump signed a series of executive orders on Wednesday, including measures to block taxpayer funds from supporting illegal immigration and to eliminate regulations his administration deems excessive.

The immigration order directs all federal agencies to identify and halt any programs that allocate funds to migrants in the country illegally. Additionally, it ensures that no federal funds are provided to state or local “sanctuary” jurisdictions—cities that prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officers.

Another order mandates a comprehensive review of all government regulations by agency heads, working alongside members of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. Any regulations found inconsistent with Trump’s policies will be rescinded or modified, furthering Musk’s broader initiative to reduce government spending—a project facing legal challenges.

Trump also signed an order to eliminate several advisory committees and independent agencies as part of his push to consolidate executive authority. Among the agencies set for disbandment are the United States Institute for Peace, which promotes global conflict resolution; the Inter-American Foundation, which funds community development in Latin America and the Caribbean; and the US African Development Foundation, which invests in African community projects.

Trump signed the new orders aboard Air Force One during his return flight from Florida to Washington.
