Troops Neutralise 12 ISWAP Terrorists, Seize Weapons In Borno


Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), in collaboration with local security forces and supported by the Air Component Command’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, have eliminated twelve members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during long-range offensive operations conducted between August 29 and 30, 2025.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, disclosed in a statement to Defence Correspondents that the operation formed part of a coordinated series of commando raids aimed at dismantling ISWAP strongholds across Borno State.

According to the statement, troops cleared multiple locations previously under terrorist control, including Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri, and Gaza.

“The fiercest confrontation took place at Loskori Kura, where troops encountered a group of insurgents, during which a heavy gun battle ensued, leading to the neutralisation of twelve terrorists,” the statement said. “On arrival at a suspected terrorists’ location at Loskori Kura, troops made contact where twelve insurgents were neutralised after a heavy gun duel.

The operation also led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons and logistics. “Items seized Included eight AK-47 rifles, eight magazines fully loaded With 7.62mm rounds of ammunition, as well as assorted drugs and medical supplies believed to have been used by the terrorists to sustain their fighters In the field,” the statement added.

Military authorities have commended the troops for their resilience and renewed determination in combating insurgency, urging the Theatre Command of Operation Hadin Kai to maintain the momentum until all remaining terrorist elements are neutralised.
