Troops kill arms supplier, 4 bandits in Zamfara

Troops of Operation Fansan Yanma Monday successfully killed an alleged arms supplier identified as Alhajin Gas in Nasarawar Burkullu town of Bukkuyum local government area in Zamfara state.

Reports from the area indicate that Alhajin Gas was killed while trying to escape after a clash with troops. 

Similarly, our correspondent reports that troops have successfully killed four bandits, arrested one during a raid in Nasarawar Burkullu area following intelligence reports that Alhajin Gas had loaded weapons into his vehicle to hand over to the bandits. 

He was also found with weapons that he intended to deliver to the bandits.

Resident of the area told our correspondent that the incident occurred during a night raid by the troops in Nasarawa Burkullu town in the state, where Alhajin Gas was intercepted and killed by the troops while trying to smuggle fire arms from Anka town to bandits.

“Upon seeing the soldiers, the suspect tried to escape but was quickly shot dead on the spot. 

“Initial investigation revealed that Alhajin Gas was transporting guns and ammunition to criminal gangs operating in the area, after which the bandits complained to him that they were experiencing shortage of ammunition and weapons,” resident stated.
