Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have neutralized two kidnappers and rescued a woman and her daughter in Gindiri, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama who disclosed the operation, said it was carried out on the night of February 23, around 8:30 p.m., following intelligence about the abduction in Gindiri Town.
He revealed, “Acting swiftly on the information, troops mobilized and pursued the kidnappers, engaging them in a gun battle on the outskirts of the town.
“During the exchange of fire, two of the kidnappers were killed, while another sustained fatal injuries before being captured. The abducted woman and her daughter were safely rescued without harm. They were immediately taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (Gindiri Branch) for first aid before being reunited with their family.”
Makama added that security forces have since intensified patrols in the area to enhance security and reassure residents.
