Controversy has trailed a trending video which tend to show a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, Anambra State, Rev. Fr Jude Muokwe, allegedly beating a widow, Mrs Maureen Ikeorah.
Moukwe, is said to be a manager at Angel primary school, Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra state where the Ikeorah is a Head-Teacher.
According to the viral video, the priest used a whip to flog the widow all over her bodies, inflicting multiple injuries on her face, leg and other parts.
Speaking, Ikeorah accused the priest of saying that he was whipping her for conveying a meeting with other staff to discuss salary increment, which they planned to pass to the management, but she did not convey such.
However, attempt to ascertain the true cause of the story proved abortive as the priest, Rev Fr Muokwe could not be reached, even as Inquiry sent to Press Secretary to the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Sir Abuchi Onwumelu, had not been replied.
