Tragedy As Another Boat Capsizes In Sokoto, Many Feared Dead

A fresh tragedy has struck in Sokoto State following another boat mishap that has left several passengers feared dead.

According to Daily Trust, the ill-fated boat, was said to be carrying mostly women escaping a bandit attack, reportedly hit the edge of a culvert around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday before capsizing.

According to local sources, panic broke out as the passengers struggled for safety. Many are still unaccounted for. Residents disclosed that the victims were attempting to flee the violence when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Rescue operations are currently ongoing as emergency teams and security agencies work to recover survivors and assess the scale of the casualties.
