A football player died after being electrocuted while setting up an internet connection. Alfredo David Cristobal was reportedly electrocuted after touching a high-voltage power wire while installing an internet cable.
On Sunday (August 31), he went outside his home at the age of 25. The rescue personnel discovered him unconscious at the base of the power pole. Margarita Gomez, the footballer’s widow, was shocked by his abrupt demise.
His teammates at Deportivo El Rodeo de Olancho in Honduras praised him as a “kind, polite, and responsible young man” who values his family and football.

Alfredo, an electrician by trade, held his wake at the football field that he considered his second home. The El Rodeo squad, dressed in black and crimson, carried Alfredo’s casket to the center circle, according to GistReel.
A teammate gently kicked a ball against the former player’s coffin to represent his ‘last pass’. Meanwhile, a big banner honoring Alfredo was put on an empty stand.
The sign read, “Fly High, Champion.” Locals attended the wake while carrying balloons and donning the team’s colours. According to a fan, “Every time I went outside, I used to find you playing on the road, your jokes will never be forgotten.”
“My deepest condolences to the grieving family, so sad,” commented Anamary.
Irene commented, “Strength to the family.” Rest in peace, Champion. “May God fill the void in your family’s hearts.”
