The Paramount Ruler of the c has charged the Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Politics, Mobilization and Special Duties, Hon James Tor to shun politics of bitterness and be proactive in performing his responsibilities for the greater success and unity of Jemgbagh and beyond.
Tor Tiv gave this charge in his palace when the government appointee visited his him to receive his royal blessings which he said would enable him perform optimally.
The Tor Tiv admonished him to tow the path of peace and work towards uniting the whole land of Jemgbagh especially by avoiding acts that can cause strife and acrimony to pave the way for progress and development for all.
He regretted that politics have taken a new dimension in Tiv land where there is a lack of respect for leaders and elders, a development he said has reduced the leaders and elders to ridicule and disgrace before other tribes.
The Tor Tiv appealed to Jemgbagh youths to ensure the peace of Gboko, be the headquarters of Tiv land by avoiding vices such as cultism and violence and rid the town of criminal activities.
Earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Politics, Mobilization and Special Duties, Hon James Tor said he was in the Tor Tiv’s palace to receive his royal blessings and tap from his wealth of experience to perform better in his new assignment of mobilizing the people of Jemgbagh.
He presented his appointment letter to the Tor Tiv through Elder Augustine Tse who spoke for Zone B and Hon Mannaseh Akperashi Gum who spoke for Zone A noting that the ascension of Orcivirigh Ayatse on the throne of the ancestors of Tiv Kingdom has restored peace in Tiv land especially in the area of internal skirmishes which was hitherto rampant.
Also speaking, Hon Terfa Iorgirin assured the Tor Tiv of the full support of youths in Jemgbagh and in Gboko urging for good counsel to enable him succeed in the new task given to him by Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Other speakers, the Gboko Local Gubernatorial Liaison Officer to the Governor Prince Andy Kor, Hon Luddy Anande, Youth leader, Terfa Tsetim and former Caretaker Chairman of Gboko LGA, Hon Aver Terlumun all pledged to identified with the Tor Tiv’s reforms in Tiv land eapecially in ensuring permanent peace in Jemgbagh.
