A prominent stakeholder of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Bichi Local Government Area, Hon. Jamilu Kabir Bichi, has announced his resignation from the party, citing what he described as persistent sidelining, neglect, and a lack of recognition for loyal members who contributed to the party’s rise to power.
Kabir, who served as the NNPP Director-General of the 2023 Campaign in Bichi, tendered his resignation in a letter dated November 19, 2025, addressed to the party’s ward chairman.
In the letter, he said his decision to quit the NNPP was “painful yet necessary,” noting that the treatment he and his supporters received within the party—particularly in his hometown—made continued membership untenable.

“The leadership’s refusal at all levels to recognize our progressive agenda, loyalty, patience, and endurance has been deeply disheartening,” he wrote.
Kabir lamented that dedicated members who worked tirelessly to build and promote the party were denied the opportunity to serve in both the party structure and government despite their contributions to NNPP’s electoral victory.
“As a principled individual with a political vision and mission… I can no longer, in good conscience, remain in a party that compromises my values,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation to his political mentor, former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Ahmad Garba Bichi, commending him for his “patience, loyalty, and straightforwardness,” and reaffirmed his commitment to “politics without bitterness.”
Kabir prayed for Allah’s guidance for the people of Bichi, Kano, and Nigeria, saying he would continue to uphold the ideals of service to humanity.
