Nigeria’s sprint sensation, Tobi Amusan, showcased her dominance at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, first booking her place in the women’s 100m hurdles final with an impressive semifinal performance.
The 27-year-old clocked 12.36 seconds (-0.2) to finish ahead of the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser (12.45s) and Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska (12.51s), entering the final with the fastest qualifying time and positioning herself as a strong contender for gold.
In the final on Monday, Amusan ran a solid 12.29-second race but narrowly missed out on reclaiming her world title. Gold went to Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who set a national record with 12.24 seconds, while the USA’s Grace Stark claimed bronze in 12.34 seconds.
