The Presidency on Wednesday slammed the former Governor of
Anambra State, Peter Obi, and his supporters, the Obidients, amid the recent
inflation report.
Nigeria’s headline
inflation dropped to 18.02 per cent in September 2025, down from 20.12 per cent
in August.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics indicate that
headline inflation has dropped for the sixth consecutive time this year.
Reacting, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga,
in a post on his official Facebook page, said despite the “significant crash”,
Obi would continue his criticism of the country’s economy.
He wrote, “Inflation recorded its most significant crash in
September, falling from 20.12% to 18.02%.
“This is the sixth consecutive month that inflation has been
declining. Peter Obi and his Obidient mob will never acknowledge this positive
development in the economy. Never!”
Recall that Obi, who was the presidential candidate of the
Labour Party in the 2023 election, has consistently criticised the current
administration, saying the government plunged Nigerians into untold hardship.
