President Bola Tinubu has terminated the appointment of Fegho John Umunubo as Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy.
The role was within the Office of the Vice President, where Umunubo had been responsible for advancing initiatives in Nigeria’s digital and creative sectors.
The announcement was made on Monday, through a statement issued by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House.

The statement clarified that Umunubo’s disengagement is effective immediately, and he no longer represents the Tinubu administration in any capacity.
“Stakeholders of the digital and creative economy are notified that Fegho John Umunubo has been disengaged with immediate effect,” the statement read.
“He no longer represents the administration, and anyone dealing with him in the government’s name does so at their own risk.”
Oladunjoye added, “Kindly note that he no longer represents this administration in any capacity.
“Henceforth, anyone who interfaces with him in the name of President Tinubu’s administration does so at his or her own risk.
“We urge all stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy to be so guided.”
He further emphasised, “This decision is final and binding. All ongoing and planned projects under the digital and creative economy office must now be coordinated directly through the Office of the Vice President.
“Stakeholders should direct all enquiries and communications to the appropriate channels to ensure transparency and continuity.”
“President Tinubu remains committed to advancing the digital and creative sectors of Nigeria.
“We encourage all partners, both local and international, to continue their collaboration through official government channels,” Oladunjoye concluded.
