ABAKALIKI – The Senior Special Assistant to the President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement (South East) region, Mrs Chioma Nweze, is to launch two community empowerment programmes in the South East region of Nigeria.
The schemes are designed to empower communities in the region in the areas of skills acquisition, and healthcare.
Nweze noted that the programmes titled ‘launching skill-up S-East through fashion training and health initiative’ are designed to empower communities in the South East region of Nigeria.
The president Bola Tinubu’s aide, Mrs Nweze made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
Stakeholders in the region, including Governors are scheduled to participate in the events scheduled to hold on 8th March, 2025 at the Vocational Centre, Uburu, Ohaozara LGA, Ebonyi State.
She stated that the first programmes, “Skill-Up South East Agenda: Unveiling Fashion Potentials,” is a four-month free tailoring training exercise aimed at unveiling the fashion potential in Igbo land.
The comprehensive empowerment package includes”Free 4-month training in tailoring and fashion, Free accommodation for the duration of the program, Empowerment with modern tailoring facilities.
Also “Training in video editing to enhance media potential, Mentorship and guidance from industry experts, Opportunity to develop a business plan and pitch.
Nweze noted that the second program, which is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promotion of healthy communities in the South East region of Nigeria, offers; “Free cancer screening for six months, Free eye testing and free glasses for the first 200 patients and Free dialyses for one year.
“This health program is done in conjunction with the David Umahi Federal University of Health Science and the Ebonyi State Government”.
The Senior special Assistant, Nweze called for the collaboration of the leaders of the region to ensure that, “these prestigious events and exploring potential avenues for discovering and developing hidden talents in the region” she said.
