President Bola Tinubu has thrown his weight behind the Government and people of Imo State in their efforts to become a major economic and industrial hub in the country.

Tinubu made his support known Thursday in  Owerri, the Imo state capital, during the opening ceremony of the Imo Economic Summit which took at Owerri.

Represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu recognized the fact that there is ICT resurgence in the state which has placed the state on the path of  economic  revival. 

He said Imo is known for technology, creative economy, agriculture and manufacturing.

 He added that “If you give Igbos the required tools, they will excel”. 

He said if given the necessary support, Imo would contribute to the country’s Gross Domestic Product(GDP), saying that the Federal Government would be ever ready to support the state in its quest to achieve economic greatness.

Earlier, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma urged investors to come and invest in the state, saying it is endowed with a lot of natural resources such as  rubber, solid minerals, zinc, crude oil and gas.

He said the state would soon have constant power supply, courtesy of the government’s Light Up Imo project being implemented through Orashi Electricity Commission.
