President Bola Tinubu has celebrated Nigerian music legend Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, on his 50th birthday, describing him as a true ambassador of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
In a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and made available through a State House press release, the President lauded 2Baba’s resilience, creativity, and commitment to using his platform for the good of the country.
“For more than 20 years, 2Baba serenaded us with soulful melodies, inspired generations, and carried the Nigerian flag with pride worldwide. His legendary song, ‘African Queen,’ remains an evergreen classic that introduced the beauty of African music to the world, placing Nigeria at the heart of the global entertainment map,” President Tinubu said.
The President also commended 2Baba’s patriotism, particularly his consistent advocacy for peace, unity, and good governance. He noted that the artist’s contributions went beyond music, highlighting his role as a voice of conscience in society.
President Tinubu prayed for the music icon to enjoy more years filled with joy, fulfilment, and good health, adding that Nigeria remained proud of his achievements.
The message comes as part of nationwide celebrations marking the milestone birthday of one of Africa’s most celebrated artists.
