A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of lacking the willingness to conduct credible elections in 2027.
Galadima made this claim on Monday, during an interview on Prime Time, a programme aired on Arise Television.
He alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government is adopting tactics designed to destabilise opposition parties in order to eliminate any challenge at the polls.

“This government is not ready to organise a free and fair election. From their antics and how they are destabilising parties, that suggests they don’t want an opposition at all for the election,” Galadima said.
He argued that the continuous interference in opposition politics was evidence of bad governance and a sign that the government is threatened by dissenting voices.
“What they are doing is not democracy. They are trying to cripple the opposition and silence anybody who can challenge them in 2027,” he stated.
The NNPP stalwart further stressed that Tinubu’s administration must change course or risk electoral defeat.
“I want to assure them that there will be opposition, and if they don’t change their style of governance, they will lose this election,” Galadima warned.
He emphasised that Nigerians are aware of the government’s shortcomings and will resist attempts to rig or manipulate the process.
“No matter how much they try, the people of this country will stand against injustice. Nigerians will not accept a stolen mandate in 2027,” he added.
