Tinubu Doesn’t Understand Federal System, Lacks Capacity To Lead – Tambuwal

Sokoto South Senator and former governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has launched a scathing criticism of President Bola Tinubu.

He accused the president of lacking the knowledge required to govern Nigeria effectively.

Tambuwal made the remarks on Friday, while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He alleged that Tinubu’s governance shortcomings are evident in his failure to appoint ambassadors nearly two years into his administration.

According to Tambuwal, Tinubu’s political experience is limited to Lagos State, which does not reflect the complexities of managing Nigeria’s federal structure.

“Tinubu has always been confined to his locality in the local environment of Lagos, with due respect, and has never been a federal operator,” Tambuwal stated.

He further argued that Tinubu’s inexperience is harming Nigeria’s international representation.

“Tinubu does not understand the federal system. Up till now, we don’t have ambassadors. Two years with almost three months into the administration, what does that tell you?” he asked.

Tambuwal went on to accuse the president of ignoring national cohesion.

“Not only governance, Tinubu lacks the knowledge of the country; he lacks the knowledge that Nigeria’s fabric is made of,” he said.

The senator stressed that leadership at the national level requires vision and inclusiveness, qualities he believes Tinubu has failed to demonstrate.

“Nigeria is not Lagos; running this country requires understanding its diversity, its challenges, and the aspirations of its people. Unfortunately, Tinubu has failed in that regard,” Tambuwal added.

He concluded by warning that poor governance will only deepen the country’s crises.

“If the president continues on this path, Nigeria will remain stagnant, and the citizens will pay the price for his lack of federal understanding,” he declared.
