Tinted Glass Permit Registration Ongoing As Jigawa Police Announce Enforcement Date

The Nigeria Police Force, Jigawa State Command, has announced that the enforcement of tinted glass permits will commence nationwide from October 2, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, made available to journalists on Saturday, in Dutse, the state capital.

According to SP Adam, the online registration and application for tinted glass permits is still ongoing.

He said, “Applicants should create an account using their NIN, BVN, or TIN, verify their account via email, then log in to select the Tinted Glass Permit service and upload their vehicle details along with supporting documents.

“Applicants must carefully confirm all details before submitting their requests and making payments as directed on the portal.”

SP Adam added that once the application is submitted, vehicle inspections and fingerprint biometric capturing will be scheduled at designated Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Departments.

For residents in Jigawa, the biometric capturing will be conducted free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters in Dutse.

He also warned against patronising unauthorised individuals attempting to exploit the permit process.

“This initiative promotes transparency and ensures road safety for all.

“We urge cooperation from the public to facilitate smooth enforcement and a safer driving environment statewide,” SP Adam said.

Motorists were advised to begin registration promptly ahead of the enforcement date.

The tinted glass permit is an annual requirement, and compliance ensures legal protection for drivers and assists the police in combating illegal window tinting across Nigeria.
