Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Tim Sherwood has questioned Pedro Neto’s celebration after his goal against Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Sherwood also said the Portuguese should expect criticism given the Blues’ recent form.
Chelsea ended their three-match losing run in all competitions with a 4-0 win over Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
Neto wheeled away in celebration after his goal, making a ‘talking’ gesture with his hand potentially in response to the criticism that has been levelled against Enzo Maresca’s side following their run of poor form.
However, Sherwood was somewhat bemused by the winger’s choice of celebration.
“I like Neto but I don’t know what the celebration was all about,” Sherwood told Premier League Productions.
“A few of the Chelsea players did that. It feels like they are listening to the noise but they have just got to blank out the noise and win.
“People are obviously going to have things to say, you are playing for Chelsea Football Club.
“It is a team that normally wins and you have spent a few billion pound so people expect you to be at the top of the league. Just get on with it.”
