According to him, the command acted swiftly on a distress call received on September 28, 2025, from Maso Kano Village in Jada Pali District, reporting an armed attack by suspected kidnappers wielding AK-47 rifles.
“The abducted individuals were Hambali Alh. Sa’adu, aged 50, and Jari Alh. Sa’adu, aged 35,” Wakil said.
He explained that a combined team of police operatives and local hunters immediately responded to the distress call, engaging the suspects in a gun battle that forced them to abandon their captives and flee the scene.
“The victims were rescued unharmed, and efforts to track down the perpetrators commenced immediately,” he added.
According to the PUNCH, Wakil revealed that during follow-up investigations carried out between September 29 and 30, operatives arrested three suspects linked to the kidnapping activities in Alkaleri and Kirfi Local Government Areas.
The suspects were identified as Adamu Ahmadu, aged 28; Bello Alhaji Musa, aged 18; and Adamu Alhaji Musa, aged 29.
He noted that all three suspects, who hail from Shalhori Village near Kirfi, confessed to the crime and disclosed that they conspired with three other accomplices still at large to carry out the abduction for ransom.
“The command is actively pursuing the remaining suspects to ensure they are brought to justice,” Wakil affirmed.
He added that the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the operatives for their professionalism and bravery and directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet investigation to guarantee that all those involved face prosecution.
