Benue state governor, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Saturday, unveiled the state’s new symbols, and anthem emphasising their significance in promoting unity, identity, and development.
According to him, the symbols were chosen through a rigorous and transparent process, reflecting the state’s collective identity and values.
Governor Alia then commended the committee responsible for selecting the symbols, praising their dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence.
He also thanked those who participated in the selection process, acknowledging their contributions in shaping the state’s identity.
The governor highlighted the importance of the state symbols, stating that they represent the essence of Benue state’s people, values, culture, and history.
He emphasised that the symbols will be used to promote the state’s identity and culture, attract tourists and investors, as well as showcase its rich cultural heritage.
Governor Alia also stressed the need for collective responsibility in developing the state, ensuring that every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
He outlined his administration’s efforts to develop the state’s infrastructure, economy, health system, and educational sector.
