The founder and Global Lead Pastor of The Transforming Church, Reverend (Dr) Sam Oye, has said 2025 edition of its global worship programme “The Encounter”, will inspire hope among Nigerians.
Reverend Oye who stated this Wednesday during an interview with journalists in Abuja, said The Encounter is a signature event of the church and it holds every year usually in the November.
Blueprint reports that the theme of this year’s programme is “Zoe” and will hold on Friday, 8 November from 8: PM till dawn at the church premises.
He said, “We are going through a very challenging time in the history of our country. The atmosphere over our country is a little bit that of apprehension, concerns, worry, fears, anxieties.
“People are in a state where right now there’s a little bit of fear in the atmosphere.
“So we just want to bring people together in an atmosphere where hope is inspired. I want to bring together our people to a place where they can pour their heart out to their maker. And because many don’t seem to have, so to say, people they can talk to as representatives.
“Some feel they don’t even have a government they can talk to. Our assignment is to create an environment for people to come just pour their heart out to God and find an atmosphere where joy can find expression again in their life.”
He said the programme will feature a mix of 17 ” old and new school” gospel artists including Tope Alabi, Chioma Jesus, Steve Crown, Kaestrng, Moses Bliss etc.
He said the programme will also provide an opportunity for church to pray for Nigeria.
According to him, prayer is a biblical obligation of Christian
“So this is our annual flagship event, I mean annual event, and we are trusting that it will also be a place where we pray for Nigeria.
“We will be able to use this moment to pray for Nigeria. Nigeria needs prayer right now.
“So we are praying that God will give our leadership the wisdom and the courage to tackle the insecurity that is bedeviling the middle belt and the northern part of our country. It is our prayer that the security architecture of our country will rise to the occasion
“So one of the things I’m going to be doing is to pray for Nigeria, that God will give our leadership the will and the courage to make sure they bring security to this country. And above that, we want to see the economy improve ” he said .
