Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Sunday Oliseh, has heaped praise on Ademola Lookman following his impressive display in Atalanta’s 5-0 victory over Empoli, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman, who has been a key player for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side this season, netted twice at the Stadio Carlo Castellani to deliver the perfect response to his coach’s recent criticism.
The 27-year-old Nigerian forward had come under scrutiny after missing a penalty in Atalanta’s 5-2 aggregate loss to Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League.
This Prompted the Italian gaffer to publicly label him the worst penalty taker, which triggered mixed reactions from the global football community.

Reacting to the display of the Super Eagles attacker, the former Borussia Dortmund and Juventus midfielder, took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his admiration for his compatriot.

With his latest performance, Lookman continues to prove his significance to Atalanta, by helping them push for the Italian Serie A title with just three points behind the league leaders, Napoli SSC.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian attacker will be looking to continue from where he left off and further prove his coach wrong by showing an outstanding display in their next clash when they host Venezia at the Gewiss Stadium.
