Synergy Among Security Agencies Key To Fighting Crimes – Brigadier General Ifeanyi

Synergy among all security agencies, including the Army, has been described as key in successful fight against crimes in Nigeria.

The Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi, stated this during his visit to the Corps Commander of Ondo State Security Network otherwise known as Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye.

He disclosed that actionable information provided by operatives of Amotekun Corps contributed to the successful fight against crimes recorded, particularly during joint operations in the state.

The 32 Artillery Brigade Commander explained that it was important to pay familiarisation visit to the Corps Commander as the new Commander in Ondo State with a view to build on the existing synergy between the Army and other security agencies in the state, including Amotekun Corps.

He said: “From what I was told, the Arny has been working in synergy particularly at tbe local level with your operatives. Most of your men are infused in all the local government areas. They have been passing actionable information.

“We want the already established synergy to continue and we like to move it to tbe next level. We will try and cooperate and work with your people to curtail crime. The prevalent crime is kidnapping.”

In his response, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Akogun Adeleye assured the Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade that the established synergy between the Amotekun and Nigerian Army remained intact.

He expressed his appreciation to the Army for their contribution to the success stories recorded in crime fighting in the state, seeking continuation of the synergy.

Akogun Adeleye said: “I appreciate you for deeming it fit to visit Amotekun office. We are indeed grateful for your hand of fellowship you extended to us.

“It is important that I inform you that the Nigerian Army, 32 Artillery Brigade, has been very supportive in fighting crime in Ondo State.

“I can assure you that the established synergy between us remains intact and I want to solicit your support for the continuation of the relationship.”
