The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has felicitated with Muslim faithful, as the Ramadan, a month-long fasting period begins, globally.
President of SWAN, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, in a statement by the Secretary-General of the Association, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, on Saturday noted that Ramadan presents an opportunity for a high-level spiritual concentration.
President Benjamin also reckoned that the period shouldn’t be only left for Muslims but for all to join in prayer and solemn Assembly for Nigeria.
He said with the ongoing renewed vigour for Sports development by the National Sports Commission (NSC) leadership in Nigeria, all hands are expected to be on deck to drive the process.
The SWAN President then called for intense prayer for the Sporting Media, NSC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for enhanced successful push in human capital development commitment in Nigeria.
The Nigeria’s number one sports writer urged Muslims to use the fasting season to widen their faith, commitment and compassion for humanity at this time and always.
“As Sports Writers, let us also see this period as an opportunity to bond and rededicate ourselves to building a formidable nation by making desirable sporting impact through the various media platforms,” he said.
To the Muslims, he prayed, “May the mercy of Allah envelope you this Ramadan. May this month bring you Iman, peace, forgiveness and Barakah.
“Ramadan Kareem.”
