The Delta State Police Command has arrested a lady suspected to be a major dealer in illicit drugs, along with three of her apprentices, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement issued to newsmen in Warri on Wednesday.
According to him, the arrest was made on August 29 by operatives attached to the Ughelli Area Command after receiving credible intelligence on the activities of drug peddlers within Afisere/Ughelli town.

“The operatives trailed and arrested a drug baron who operates a chemist store in Afisere Community alongside three of her apprentices,” Edafe stated.
He added that the suspect later took officers to her residence in Afisere, where a search warrant was executed.
“Exhibits recovered from the suspects included: 355 bottles of CSC codeine, 57 rolls of 50MG tramadol capsules, 335 rolls of 100MG tramadol capsules. Others were: 33 rolls of 200MG super royal, seven backwoods, 540 sachets of swinol capsules and 16 cups of Canadian liquid cannabis,” he disclosed.
Edafe further revealed that investigations identified the lady as a key distributor of illicit drugs across Ughelli and its environs. He assured that the case was still under investigation.
