Why Galatasaray Want To Sign Calvin Bassey

The reigning Turkish Super Lig champions want to sign a left-footed center-back in January, and their first-choice target is AC Milan’s Strahinja Mihalovic. But just in case the deal does not work out, Calvin Bassey is their backup plan.

Galatasaray have been flexing their muscles in the transfer market in the past year, so they can comfortably afford Bassey, who would likely be priced at around €40 million.

The Cimbom are pushing to defend their Super Lig title for the third consecutive year. Also, they are looking to go far in the UEFA Champions League.

The Cimbom have already shown that they can tough customers in the Champions League when the whole squad is fit. They have already defeated Bodo Glimt and Liverpool this season, so they have the belief that they can go far in the competition.

But in the meantime, convincing Bassey to dump English football and switch to Turkish football will be an uphill task.
