The president-elect of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)
Comrade Oladoja Olushola has hinted that the leadership of the union shall commence on immediate nationwide tour to access the state of welfare and facilities across tertiary institutions.
The students leader advocated the appointments of coordinators in the Nigerian universities for essy access and enquiries of the
newly introduced Nigerian Education Loan Fund ( NELFUND).
Speaking at a maiden press conference held at Pine Crest Hotel, Abuja, Comrade Oladoja the tour will enable the union to gather firsthand information on the pressing issues facing Nigerian students and ensure that they engage the relevant authorities for necessary interventions.
Oladoja also pledged to continue to stand in solidarity with the Nigerian masses in the struggle for national development.
His words, “With deep gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility, I, Comr. Olushola Oladoja, humbly accept my election as the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). This victory is not mine alone but belongs to all Nigerian students who have placed their trust and confidence in my leadership. I assure you all that this is the dawn of a Fortune ERA one that will consolidate past gains while introducing a renewed and pragmatic approach toward improving students’ welfare and the education system in Nigeria.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the immediate past leadership of NANS led by Comr. Lucky Emonefe (National President) and Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez (Senate President). Their contributions to the struggle for students’ rights, better welfare, and quality education will forever be acknowledged. I pledge to build on the solid foundation they have laid while advancing the cause of Nigerian students.
“I sincerely commend the NANS Independent Convention Planning Committee led by Prince Koyoyo for organizing a free, fair, and credible convention. Their dedication, transparency, and commitment ensured the success of the process, and history will remember their efforts.
“I deeply appreciate the Students’ Union Presidents (Senators) from all tertiary institutions across the federation for their patience, cooperation, and unwavering trust in me. Your confidence in my leadership is an inspiration, and I assure you that under my watch, NANS will be campus-oriented, focusing on grassroots engagement and real-time advocacy for students’ welfare.
“As a demonstration of our commitment, I hereby announce the immediate commencement of a nationwide campus tour to assess the state of welfare and facilities across our tertiary institutions. This tour will enable us to gather firsthand information on the pressing issues facing Nigerian students and ensure that we engage the relevant authorities for necessary interventions.
“NANS remains a formidable force in nation-building, and under my leadership, we will continue to stand in solidarity with the Nigerian masses in the struggle for national development. Nigerian students have a vital role to play in shaping the future of our great nation, and we will ensure that our voices are heard on matters of national interest.
“I acknowledge and appreciate the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for its uncommon support to Nigerian students. His administration’s passion for holistically reviving and strengthening Nigeria’s education system is commendable, and we pledge our cooperation in ensuring the actualization of these goals.
“I extend my special appreciation to Hon. Seyi Tinubu, son of the President, for his continuous support for NANS as an organization. His commitment to youth and student empowerment is recognized and appreciated.
“My sincere gratitude also goes to Hon. Mohammed Badaru, the Patron of NANS, for his fatherly role and unwavering support over the years. His contributions to the development of Nigerian students and our association remain invaluable.
