A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Professor Rufai Aliyu Yauri, has called on opposition politicians in Kebbi State to stop playing politics with the security situation in the state.
Yauri, in a statement, condemned the attitude of politicians who he says use sensitive matters to mislead the public and score cheap political points, not minding the effects.
He said issues of security are not what people should toy with, as it affects everyone while the government is doing all it can to stamp it out.

He said it is even more unfortunate because the Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris, is fully committed to securing the lives and property of Kebbi people while working day and night to attract investors that will boost the state’s economy and create opportunities for the youth.
‘Kebbi State is blessed with vast agricultural land, natural resources, and great potential, but negative propaganda and fake news from opposition figures only destroy the image of the state and scare away investors and development partners.
“Those tarnishing Kebbi’s name for political advantage should know that insecurity does not affect APC alone—it affects all of us. This is the time for unity, not division,” Professor Yauri declared.
He also appealed to Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations, to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he is making sincere efforts to secure the Northern region and promote agricultural and educational development.
He noted that both President Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris have demonstrated strong commitments towards improving security, strengthening the economy, and advancing education in Nigeria and Kebbi State.
He emphasised that if educational challenges in the North are effectively addressed, it would significantly reduce banditry and other security challenges.
“No amount of propaganda or fake news will stop this transformation. Kebbi is on the path of greatness under Governor Nasir Idris, and all well-meaning citizens must stand with him,” he concluded.
