The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has warned Malam Bolaji Abdullahi against parading himself as the party’s National Publicity Secretary and spokesperson.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Director of Media and Public Affairs in the Office of the National Chairman, Dr. Christopher O. Okechukwu, the party addressed the controversy surrounding Bolaji Abdullahi’s self-identification.
The ADC described Abdullahi’s claim to the role as misleading, unauthorized, and a violation of established protocols.

“The ADC finds it imperative to address a matter of significant concern regarding the representation of our esteemed party.
“It has come to our attention that Malam Bolaji Abdullahi has been presenting himself as the Publicity Secretary and Spokesperson of the ADC.
“This assertion is not only misleading but also a violation of the established protocols,” the statement read.
Okechukwu further outlined the eligibility criteria for the position, stressing that the requirements include active party membership, nomination across 36 states and the FCT, and election at the National Convention.
He said: “In light of these criteria, it is clear that Malam Bolaji Abdullahi does not meet the necessary requirements to serve as the Publicity Secretary and Spokesperson of the ADC.”
The party also urged media organizations to desist from recognizing Abdullahi in that role.
“We call upon media houses and journalists to exercise due diligence in their reporting.
“ It is crucial they refrain from recognizing Malam Bolaji Abdullahi as an official spokesperson of the ADC,” Okechukwu warned.
Reiterating its commitment to transparency and accountability, the ADC assured members that it remains focused on upholding good governance and democratic values.
