ABUJA – The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has extended his felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the commencement of Ramadan 2025, urging them to use the season for prayers, reflection, and acts of kindness toward building a more united and progressive Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Saturday, March 1, 2025, by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, Prince Audu called on Muslims to strengthen their faith, engage in Ibadah (worship), and extend generosity to the less privileged.
“As the holy month of Ramadan dawns upon us, I extend my heartfelt greetings to Muslim Ummahs and all Nigerians. This sacred time is a moment for reflection, spiritual growth, and a time to extend love to our fellow compatriots,” he said.
The minister highlighted the values of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of kindness, charity, and unity.
“Ramadan encourages us to embrace kindness, charity, and the spirit of togetherness. Let us take this time to reaffirm our commitment to uplifting those in need, fostering compassion, and building bridges of understanding within our communities.”
He also urged Nigerians to pray for peace, progress, and the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which he said remains committed to improving the welfare of citizens.
“Ahead of the fasting period, prices of food have dropped in the country, and we can only continue to pray for more of Almighty Allah’s wisdom for our president and those in positions of authority,” he noted.
Prince Audu further reminded Nigerians that Islam is a religion of peace and understanding and encouraged all citizens to use this period to foster unity, regardless of religious differences.
“May this Ramadan be a time of renewal, forgiveness, and reflection for each of us. May we emerge from it with a renewed commitment to serving one another and our great nation. Ramadan Kareem, and may Almighty Allah accept our fast as an act of Ibadah,” he prayed.
