Lagos stood still on Wednesday, February 19 as Nollywood actress and podcast host, Abiola Adebayo honoured the memory of her beloved mother, Mrs. Mojisola Nurat Adebayo, in a moving burial ceremony. The event, steeped in emotion and tradition, was a testament to a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
While the day started with the customary eighth-day Fidau Prayers, the merriments and celebration of life followed in earnest.
Abiola, who found herself in a moment of profound reflection shed tears mingled with gratitude as she paid tribute to the woman who had been her greatest teacher, describing her as a beacon of love, patience, and resilience. Her mother’s strength, she said, had shaped not just her life but the lives of many who had the privilege of knowing her.
The funeral, conducted according to Islamic rites and reception was graced by some of Nollywood’s most notable faces, including Odunlade Adekola, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Regina Chukwu, and Kazeem Adeoti among others.
Personalities also present at the event include Hon. Ayodeji Joseph, Mayor Akinpelu, Gboyega Akosile, and others.
Their presence was a powerful reminder that in the world of entertainment, bonds extend beyond the screen, standing firm in moments of sorrow.
Affectionately known as Iya Wale, Mrs. Mojisola Nurat Adebayo was celebrated for her unwavering kindness and strong spirit. Having lived 68 remarkable years, she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to resonate through her family and the countless lives she touched.
