Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) as Minister of Defence, describing the move as a restoration of fairness and inclusive representation for the region.

Speaking at a press conference Thursday, chairman of the forum, Ango Bally, said the appointment was a recognition of Musa’s “illustrious military career, exceptional leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to peace and national unity.”

He noted that the retired military chief, who previously led the nation’s defence architecture, demonstrated “strategic brilliance, patriotism and professional excellence” during his service, earning both national and international respect.

SKJF also commended the Senate for what it described as a thorough screening and confirmation process that reflected broad bipartisan support.
