Sokoto governor commissions N343m BUA CSR projects

Sokoto state governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu, Tuesday, commissioned development projects worth N343 million donated by BUA Cement Sokoto, to host communities.

Speaking while commissioning the projects, Dr. Aliyu noted that the projects marked a significant milestone in the quest to foster sustainable development and improve the quality of people’s lives.

He also noted that community development is a cornerstone of any thriving society adding that through such laudable effort problems and some pressing needs of the people can be met.

The governor who was represented by Commissioner of Water Resources, Alhaji Aminu Dodo Iya, said the BUA ‘s dedication to community development was not only commendable but will serve as a shining example for other corporate bodies to emulate.

He said his administration would continue to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Dr Aliyu commended the company for its humanitarian services charged other corporate bodies to live up to their corporate social responsibility.

Earlier in his address, the managing director BUA Cement Company, Yusuf Haliru Binji, said the company enjoys cordial relationships and understanding with the host communities, and the government of Sokoto state.

He said it has the tradition of the company and it’s an annual event to donate drugs, cement, scholarship, and school uniforms as part of its corporate social responsibility to its host communities.
